ree

A diet rich in vitamins, minerals and healthy fats can support skin health.

Here our some of our favourite skin enhancing foods.

1. Hydration

One of the keys to luminous skin is hydration.

Keeping well hydrated with clean drinking water will help flush toxins out of your body and keep your organs and skin hydrated.

Consuming high water content foods is another wonderful way to keep hydrated.

Include foods such as cucumbers, lettuces and watermelon.

2. Vitamin C Foods

Eating foods rich in vitamin c is another way to positively enhance your skins radiance.

In the article "7 Reasons Why Vitamin C Is Good For Your Skin" (https://pharmeasy.in/blog/7-reasons-why-vitamin-c-is-good-for-your-skin/#:~:text=Vitamin%20C%20(Ascorbic%20acid)%20is,collagen%20synthesis%20for%20healthy%20skin.) Pharmeasy says this about vitamin C "Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is loaded with antioxidants that are known to make your skin radiant and youthful. It helps to destroy the free radicles and enhance the tissue repairment and collagen synthesis for healthy skin."

Some foods high in vitamin C include: citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, kiwi fruits, strawberries and capsicum.

3. Healthy fats.

Fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel and sardines are excellent foods for healthy skin. They are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Fatty acids help build and maintain a healthy body.

Other sources of healthy fats include nuts, seeds and avocados.

4. Protein

Protein is essential for every organ in your body including the skin. Choose clean proteins such as hormone free chicken, eggs, chickpeas, white flesh fish, tofu, beans, peas, lentils and lean beef.

5. Green Tea

Green tea is packed full of antioxidants which help fight free radicals, it also contains vitamin E which is known to nourish, hydrate, brighten and repair skin.

Your body and skin need to be well hydrated and have a steady supply of nutrient dense foods. Maybe you would like to try incorporating some of the foods (and drink) in this article into your daily diet for an easy and delicious way to help your skin become more healthy and radiant.
