- juice of one lemon

Juice ingredients together

2. Eliminate Foods That May Cause Belly Bloating

After indulging in the delicious treats and snacks at the various playdates, parties and get togethers over the past few months, maybe its time to start implementing healthy food choices on the daily. This may include eliminating foods you know make you feel bloated, puffy and yuck. These may include breads, dairy, packaged foods, sweets and more. You can do it! What is more important, your taste buds or your health? Eliminating foods that have little or no nutritional value is a great start to clearing our digestive system and beating the bloat.

3. Curb Emotional Cravings

We are all guilty at times for eating just for pleasure, (chocolate cake, ice-cream, chips...you get the idea) While we believe it can be positive to indulge a little at times, there are two simple questions we can ask ourselves before eating that may help us eat to nourish rather than indulge.

- Am I hungry?

- Is this food choice going to be nutritionally beneficial?

If we can answer yes to both of these questions, chances are your body will love your decision. It is important before we eat to tune in internally, connect with our body's inner calling. Also eating mindfully, slowly savouring the flavours and textures of our meal, being present and aware rather than being distracted by the tv computer, phone or work helps us stop eating when we are comfortably satiated and can help feeling over full and bloated.

4. Drink Water

Dehydration leads to constipation which leads to bloating. So an increase in water intake may be one wonderful and effective way to reduce bloating.

Here are some additional benefits of being well hydrated

- positively affects brain function

- may help treat and prevent headaches

- may help relieve constipation

- may aid in weight loss

- lubricates joints

- Delivers oxygen through the body

- helps regulate body temperature

- helps flush out body waste

- reduces the chance of a hangover

5. Walking

Among the many benefits of walking, it also may help reduce bloating. It does this by expelling gas through the digestive tract as well as increasing oxygen and blood flow through the body.
